Fish Curry Set from Zing Street
Ingredients Included in set
Turmeric powder 100 g
Mustard seeds 100 g
Mustard oil 500 ml
Nigella seeds or Kalonji 100 g

Fish steaks x 6
Salt to taste
Medium size Tomatoes x 1
Garlic Cloves x 4
Green chilies x 5
Coriander leaves for garnish
Grind mustard seeds to to yield about one and half teaspoons of powdered mustard seeds.
Blend tomatoes, garlic, 3 green chilies, powdered mustard, salt and half cup of water to a smooth paste and keep aside.
Sauce Cooking Process
Heat mustard oil in a pan until smoking hot. Remove from heat for 30 seconds and then keep back.
Add one and half tablespoons of nigella seeds and let it sizzle for about 10 sec and then add the tomato-mustard-chili paste.
Cook until the excess water is evaporated and oil is released. This would take about 10 mins.
Reduce heat and cook for another couple of minutes until the wet masala darkens a little.
Add one and half cups of water, mix well and bring to a boil. Simmer for about ten minutes.
Fish Cooking Process
Pan fry the marinated fish steaks in mustard oil until golden brown on both sides
Add the fish to the mustard sauce and cook for a couple of minutes more.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice
